Rainy Day & River Walk

After dinner, watched four episodes of Justified. We observed some tour boats going back and forth on the river. It would have been cold and wet for their passengers. Both sides of the Parramatta River have paths for walking, jogging and biking. There are usually many people out but with the rain, they pretty much stayed inside. We headed to bed after 10 pm. We got a huge amount of rain. It was still raining thru the night. Much colder in the cabin. Woke up several times. So much going thru my head. Had some dreams but again, forgot them. I got up around 7. It was cold in the salon, only 70 degrees. It was very overcast and looking like it would rain. Mark slept until 8:30. I had breakfast ready. Lots of people out walking, many of them with their dogs. Mark spent time working with a bank account and each time our wifi would drop. Very frustrating. Since it was colder out, I got a sweater and jacket to wear. It is always colder on the water. Mark had to bail out the dinghy. Very overcast when we got into the dinghy and headed to shore. Tied up at the dinghy dock. Walked over to the Bodhimind Massage & Acupuncture center. Had a lovely conversation with Jonathon who runs the center and did my acupuncture yesterday. My sciatica was much better after the treatment and will be better over the next few days. Mark used the time to make a phone call. Then we walked around each of the three floors. We bought a couple of things and then stopped at Aldis. They were selling a big gym bag on wheels which I thought was a great price at $10. We added our groceries and wheeled away. We stopped at the food court for lunch. Then headed back to the boat. It was still very overcast. Just as we got going it started sprinkling. Caught up on emails. Then Mark headed for an afternoon nap. Had a good long chat with one of my sisters. Then joined Mark for siesta time. Fell asleep for an hour. It was nice to get some extra rest. Mark suggested that we take the dinghy to the opposite shore and go for a walk on the bridge behind our anchored sailboat. We found a floating dock and Mark secured our dinghy. There was a young couple enjoying a picnic lunch on the same floating dock. We took a very long walk and head up the grassy hill to the street. Walked one section of the bridge which looked newer. Then walked back and all the way to a traffic light to get to the bridge that was closest to our boat. We observed the Marine vessel headed out to our boat, but they did not stop. Then they came under the bridge and stopped near a big power boat that was anchored on the other side. They had red flashing lights. There were lots of joggers, runners and bikers along the path of the river. Even an area with a gym and then one for kiddies. Mark noticed a short zip line too. Very fancy long slides. We walked back to the dinghy. The couple had left. Mark unlocked the line and we headed back to the boat. It started sprinkling on us. We didn't have far to go. Got back tot he boat. I helped Mark hoist the dinghy into the davits. We will be heading to the Birkenhead Point marina fuel dock in the morning before leaving. Then head over to Cammeray. Mark suggested stopping on the mooring ball just before the bridge. We can tie up and he will drop the dinghy and head to Cammeray to pick up our mail. I will stay with the boat. Then we may head to Manly, if we can get a mooring ball. Or sail 15 miles north to Pittwater. Thanks for the many emails and messages. No sign of the sun today. Maybe tomorrow will be a brighter day.
