Down Day

Helen & Mark
Up around 9 am, since Mark decided that I should stay sleeping longer when I was coughing all night and my stomach felt like I had food poisoning. By the time morning arrived, for me, my stomach pains had eased. Mark had already finished his breakfast of cereal & banana. I heated up leftover veggies for my breakfast. I spent many of my waking hours doing healing on myself thru the night. Someone listened and eased my pains. I still have a bit of a dry throat and cough. I took several Airborne as maybe my Vitamin C is low. Did up the dishes once I was done eating. Mark took some pictures of our Air Line Hookah scuba gear and our spear gun which was never used. He will be listed them on Gumtree which is the local version of Craig's List. Then Mark launched the dinghy around 11 am. We beached the dinghy at Winnererremy Park and secured our long painter to a public bench. Then walked over to our car. Decided to drive to the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and take a shower. There was a parking lot a block away. We tried to walk along the water, but had to climb stairs up the hill to the next street. Long walk over, only to find that the showers were being cleaned. The other thing is that our Google Maps took us in such a roundabout way to the yacht club. Decided to head to the Warriewood Square shopping mall which is close by. They actually had decent wifi coverage. Spent a couple of hours researching things to do in Melbourne and Canberra. Mark added the for sale listings on Gumtree. We were attempting to save our cell phone data. I had some chicken with rice and veggies at their eatery. Mark had fish and chips and said they were surprisingly good. Got some exercise walking around the mall. It has three different grocery stores and free parking, too. It was an overcast day but we could see some blue in the sky. Today's high was 27C. I would say that was over 80 degrees. The breeze is still cool but riding in the dinghy, I could feel the heat of the sun on my neck. Drove back to the park where we left the rental car on the side of the street. Then walked down to the beach and the dinghy was floating in the water as the tide had risen. Thankful, not to have to lug it one way or the other. Headed over to the yacht club. The water was flat but the breeze was steady. The showers were once again unlocked for cleaning. The floor was dry so I proceeded in to take a shower. Mark too. Once we were done, we headed back to the boat. My throat was itchy or tickling me enough to make me cough. I said it was nap time. I sprayed my throat and actually slept for an hour or two. Mark wanted me to sleep longer but I was awake. It was after 5 pm, so Mark put together his sg&t with some taco chips. I am drinking my water with coconut mixed in. The sun is shining thru a thin layer of cloud as it works it's way towards sunset.
The breeze is cool so I closed on the one front hatch. It is 81 degrees in here. Too hot for Mark, so he's out in the cockpit cooling off. Perhaps I am fevered as my forehead is very warm. Watched the girls' life saving rowers out in the bay. I can see small sailboats further out from the anchorage. Not sure if it's race night or a practice sail. With all the many sailboats in this area, every night of the week is race night here. Also saw a gaggle of paddle boards. The riders were face down paddling with their arms and kicking with their legs in the air. There were also several young paddlers from the sailing club behind us. Many people on the water. It was nice to have a down day after we have dedicated so many hours to cleaning out the boat. Thanks for the emails and messages received today. There are tiny ripples on the water. We are facing towards the East on this last day of February. Our days in Australia are winding down way too fast!
