Resting and Speargun Sale

01 March 2019 | Pittwater Bay
Helen
After dinner last night, we watched the rest of Watership Down. The only problem is there were two parts and it was far from the end of the movie, when it stopped. Then Mark wanted to start watching the latest Star Wars movie, on Han Solo. We got to bed just after 9 pm. We got to sleep in again. Mark said he woke up at night and got up and watched part of another movie. I didn't hear him get up at all. So, that means I got some good sleep. Mark had cereal and banana for breakfast today. I finally got out of bed around 8:30. I still have a bit of a cough and scratchy throat. It was a quieter sleep as I took some dated Advil Cold capsules before sleeping. Mark had an interest from someone for our spear gun posting on Gum Tree. So, he sent them a message back. Then Multihull Solutions sent a questionnaire out which he also filled in with things like the age of the boat batteries. It was a lovely sunny day with a good breeze. We could see lots of people with their dogs on the doggie beach in front of us. I tried some gluten free cereal we bought yesterday for my breakfast. It had some dried fruits in it and was tasty. Mark also worked on cleaning out the bilges on both sides of the boat. Then he launched the dinghy and we headed to Winnererremy Park beach after 11 am. Secured the dinghy painter line to a park bench. Our rental car is parked on the street close by. Headed over to the Warriewood Shopping Mall. We parked on the second floor as the first floor was full. They have a huge section for car washing. Got to see a little more of this big mall. We connected with the mall wifi only to find that we couldn't make phone calls. So, they must have Whatsapp or Skype blocked. Regardless, was able to catch up on news and Facebook postings. Mark had a coffee. I had a protein smoothie for lunch while Mark tried an eatery that had ΒΌ chicken dinners similar to Canada's Swiss Chalet. He said it was good and not a bad price. I tried to send out a detailed email with a picture, yesterday, and it wouldn't send yesterday or today. Someone's address must be invalid or something like that. We drove back to the park around 2:30 or so. Mark had a response and interest from a local young man who was interested in our spear gun. He met Mark at the park shortly after we returned. The spear gun is one thing that we never used on our sailing adventure. So, Mark took the dinghy to the boat to get the spear gun. I was trying to make some calls using the Flying Fox Cafe wifi. It only worked for a short time. I finally gave up just as Mark returned to the beach. He was successful in selling it and getting one more thing off the boat. Then we got the dinghy in the water and headed back to the boat. I was tired. And coughing more. Decided to take the suggested cough syrup and head to bed. We were in bed for almost 2 hours, but not sure that I slept that much. My coughing kept me awake and the cough syrup was supposed to make me sleepy. Finally both of us got up. Mark was able to connect to the wifi from a small hotel across the bay. It would not work on my phone. We are still trying to preserve the rest of our Telstra data. Need to send a picture to the blog. It turned out to be a lovely sunny day for what they call the first day of Fall. I would think that doesn't arrive until the 21st of this month. The temperatures for Melbourne were up to 37C today. Sydney's high was 27C again. That seems to be the perfect temperature here. Lots of white clouds in the sky, some of them moving past us very fast. There is a good cool breeze from the East, today. We are very close to the tiny sailboat moored behind us. I did a check with our range finder and it was 10 yards behind us. The wind seems to change direction most days. Mark is enjoying his sg&t out in the cockpit this evening. I was cold with the hatch window open. Asking for some relief. Will do more healing on myself and see if that works. My throat is not sore but scratchy and makes me want to cough. Thanks for emails and messages. We could see paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats in the distance and one party boat dropping off guests at the public dock. Not sure how they achieved that when the dock had a sailboat tied up in the drop off area. Now that I look at the dock, neither boat is there. There always seems to be a lot of people with their dogs on the beach at all hours. Plus, many boats going by in both directions. We have some dinner plans tomorrow night with David and some other folks that Mark knew growing up in Sydney.

About:
We are both computer folks that were live aboard cruisers back in the 90s. We settled in Jacksonville Florida after escaping the great white north and cruising the Bahamas, T&C, DR and points south down to Trinidad. [...]
Extra: Charabia is a French slang word for nonsense or gibberish. It derives from Arabic "sharab" which means alcohol. When you drink (too much) alcohol, you start talking Charabia. The original owners named her and Mark liked the name so it stuck.
