Boat Jobs & Lunch with Stephy

04 March 2019 | Pittwater Bay

Decided to watch the movie, The Commuter, last night. It was entertaining but some of it was not that believable. Then we started watching the movie, Adrift. The movie started off in Tahiti, an island we have visited on this sailing adventure. It was after 9 pm and we decided to head to bed. Mark said the sky was very clear with many stars out. I noticed Orion's Belt but did not want to go out and get cold from the night breezes. It sounded like the winds picked up for a brief instant as we got to bed. Slept well. Did not cough much. Mark got up around 8 am. At least we are getting good long sleep which should help my cold. I started coughing when I got up. Mark had his cereal and banana for breakfast. I got up and waited some before having my breakfast of cooked veggies, carrot, brocolini, spinach, asparagus and cheese. Mark started the day heading out with the extension cord and his sander. He used the dinghy to go around the outside of our boat to all the areas that he touched up. Then he painted each of the spots. I cooked my breakfast and then cleaned up the kitchen. Mark contacted our broker, Don, and he said our 3D pictures were brilliant. He may have some interest already. Yeah! We will move to a mooring ball off Scotland Island after our engine check tomorrow. Then we got in the dinghy and headed to the RPAYC dock. Mark secured the dinghy and we walked up to the showers. Had the place to myself, which was nice. Enjoyed the nice hot water. Then met up with Mark and we dinghied back to the boat. Found some more souvenirs to ship back to Jax. Mark went thru the chart table and found some things that he wanted to keep. The sun was shining again today. It was very peaceful without a lot of boat traffic. We can see a few people with their dogs on the doggie beach. Also, saw some paddle boarders on the water. We headed to shore around noon. Our first stop was to drop off a bag of clothes to the St Vincent de Paul charity bin. It took us about 20 minutes or so to drive to Castle Crag to meet up with Stephy for lunch today. Enjoyed our time together. We talked about our sale process and what we will do next. Before we knew it the time had flown by and she had to get back to work. Mark and I headed to the Birkenhead Point shopping mall as we thought they would have a couple things we were looking for. I enjoyed time on their free mall wifi. For some reason, I connected okay but Mark did not. We decided that it was getting late and we would be stuck in rush hour traffic if we didn't head back. Mark stopped at the closest mall to Mona Vale. We knew that one of the mall stores had what we were looking for there. I got connected and was able to send out some emails. Plus sent Mark a picture for tonight's blog. Headed back and found our dinghy which was just off the beach in the water. Someone had untied our lengthy painter line and left it untied. Not sure why they would do that?? At least they didn't steal anything out of our dinghy, like the life vests or fuel tank. We won't be using this beach much longer, if we get moved to a mooring ball off Scotland Island, tomorrow. I found the breeze to be cold as we motored back to our boat. I didn't take a sweater today as it was a nice hot sunny day. Despite the cold breeze, our salon temperature was 84 degrees. I helped Mark hoist the dinghy, after we got back to the boat. Our shower towels were nicely dried on the lifelines. Mark replaced the caulking on the back steps. The sun is sinking in the western sky, ready to say good-bye to this day. Thanks so much for your emails and messages. We saw the news headlines with tornadoes in Alabama and Georgia. We hope Mark's family were clear of these deadly storms.
