Sea Princess Sea Day 17 - 05/30/19

30 May 2019 | Indian Ocean
Helen
Woke up around 7 am, which was one hour longer as the time changed overnight. Got dressed and headed to the dining room for breakfast. We joined three other Aussie couples at their table. Enjoyed our conversations. Mark had some fruit plus a ham & cheese omelet with bacon, hash browns and toast. I had fruit plus a ham & cheese omelet plus bacon. We headed back to our cabin. I posted pictures on Facebook and checked emails. Then we took our sunglasses and hats and headed down to Deck 7 to walk. It was an easier walk today with a very strong breeze. At one area, it was pushing against us as we tried to walk. Walked up to Deck 14 Lido, for lunch. I had mainly cooked veggies plus a pork chop. I rejected the piece of beef brisket as it looked raw. There are many other choices on the buffet, including pre-made sandwiches, a full salad bar, fruit bar and different types of bread. Plus plenty of choices for dessert. Missed out on playing water volleyball as we met around 20 other passengers in the Canada-USA group get-together. Our dinner mates, Greg & Maxine attended as well. The Canadians were from Edmonton, Alberta & New Brunswick. We had more US people, from Arizona, Ohio, Florida, Texas, California and Illinois. Spent an hour together in the sports bar. This was also the location for our Ryder Cup challenge. In-between, we watched several passengers who made paper airplanes and then tried to fly them in the atrium down one floor thru a hoola hoop ring. Two people succeeded. Mark and I shot the same score in the golf challenge. We didn't stay too long as there was an astronomy lecture. Times for everything changed today. Headed back to our cabin. Showered and got ready for dinner. Joined our dinner mates. Again, I didn't like any of the main course choices. They offer several seafood dishes, lamb and pork. They have several favorites like chicken and burgers, but I selected a vegetarian dish. It was not what I expected. After dinner, we headed out to see the Movie Under the Stars which was Bohemian Rhapsody. The good seats were already taken, but we found a couple of lounge chairs to sit on. Mark got us some towels and blankets as well as popcorn.
After the movie finished, we headed to the Princess Theater for their main show. It was a older lady from Wales, who sang beautifully and did comedy in-between. We haven't laughed so much in a long time. She was really good. Headed up to Deck 14 Lido to get a drink. Mark had water while I had some lemon tea. My cold is almost gone, except at times I had a dry cough. The deck looked like we got some rain. We checked our position when we got back in our cabin and found that the huge breeze was a mini gale with winds around 33 knots. We are still crossing the Indian Ocean. We have to set our clocks back and hour, so we will have an extra sleeping hour again. I caught up on emails. Mark too. Watched the news and then started watching another tv movie. Thanks so much for the emails and messages. Four more days on the ocean until we arrive in Muscat.

About:
We are both computer folks that were live aboard cruisers back in the 90s. We settled in Jacksonville Florida after escaping the great white north and cruising the Bahamas, T&C, DR and points south down to Trinidad. [...]
Extra: Charabia is a French slang word for nonsense or gibberish. It derives from Arabic "sharab" which means alcohol. When you drink (too much) alcohol, you start talking Charabia. The original owners named her and Mark liked the name so it stuck.
