Sea Princess Sea Day - 06/11/19

11 June 2019 | Red Sea
Helen
Slept in until 8 am. Got dressed and headed to Deck 14, Lido for breakfast. I had the same things for breakfast today as yesterday. Mark too. Once we were done eating, we headed back to the cabin. Watched some tv. Then we got ready and headed up to Deck 7 and walked a couple of laps around the ship. Then headed to the gym. Mark didn't stay as long as I did. Walked the treadmill for about an hour watching the movie, To Kill a Mocking Bird. I know I watched it years ago but didn't really remember much of the story line. Joined Mark in our cabin. Had a bit of a rest and then changed into our swim suits. Walked up the stairs to Deck 14, Lido for lunch. Mark had a burger and fries. I picked up some veggies and chicken for my lunch. We headed to the pool on Deck 12, and joined our volleyball players for some humorous games. It is a lot of fun. We find our arms and shoulders hurt from our playing. We picked up some ice water at the bar and headed back to our cabin. Hung our wet clothes out on the balcony. Showered and got ready for today's Ryder Cup challenge. This one was back at our pool where we play volleyball There was quite the breeze for our chip shots into the pool. Neither of us did very well. I do believe the gusty wind was to blame. The sun was hot. My body was getting scorched, despite putting on sunscreen, so we headed back to our cabin. Watched the Einstein series and got ready for dinner. Once again, we were the last couple to arrive at our table and we were right on time at 5:30. Our service was quite slow today. Mark and I both had the slow roasted veal with risotto and veggies. This was our worst dinner to date. They offered to bring us something else, but the choices did not include anything that we liked. Again, three of the main dinners were seafood, which we are not indulging in. We made up for the lousy dinner, by having a dessert. Once done, we headed out to Deck 12 for the Movie Under the Stars. Didn't think we could find a seat, but our usual loungers were available. The movie was Captain Philips, which we had watched years ago. Not sure it was a great choice for the location we are in. Egypt is to our port side. There was only water to be seen today as we are in the middle of the Red Sea. We could see some lights tonight. Our ship arrives in Aqaba, tomorrow. We decided to take a chance to see if tonight's Singer and Dancer show had any open seats as the 7:30 show was totally full by 7 pm. We were in luck. The show was very good. Mark enjoyed a digestive as his nose was running some and his throat was sore too. Mark noticed that one of the dancers dropped an earring during the performance. Then several songs later, a dancer kicked the earring to the edge of the stage. It ended up in the aisle way and the lady behind us gave it to us. We returned it to one of the ship's crew after the show. We stopped at the casino and picked a couple machines that gladly took our money. Once our blog is posted, we will get ready for tomorrow's road trip thru Jordan. Thanks for the emails and messages. Great to hear from you.

About:
We are both computer folks that were live aboard cruisers back in the 90s. We settled in Jacksonville Florida after escaping the great white north and cruising the Bahamas, T&C, DR and points south down to Trinidad. [...]
Extra: Charabia is a French slang word for nonsense or gibberish. It derives from Arabic "sharab" which means alcohol. When you drink (too much) alcohol, you start talking Charabia. The original owners named her and Mark liked the name so it stuck.
