Sea Princess Sea Day - 06/13/19

13 June 2019 | Gulf of Suez
Helen
We fell back one hour overnight. We are only 6 hours ahead of East Coast Time. Woke up around 8 am. It was great to have an extra hour of sleep. We were underway on the Red Sea, heading towards the Suez Canal. Got dressed and headed to Deck 14, Lido for breakfast. Mark had a head ache and he was blowing his nose, so we just wanted something quick. I offered to go and bring him some breakfast back to the room, but he didn't want that. We ended up joining a non-retired couple. We could not find any other empty tables. They were from the west side of Sydney, towards the Blue Mountains. She worked at a hospital and he worked for a power company. They each took 10 weeks off work. We had enough time to walk back to our cabin and then head to the Princess Theater for the mandatory Safety Drill Briefing. By law, they have to do a briefing every 30 days. Once it was done, we headed back to our cabin. We watched a movie and caught up on our wifi, although, it was not working very well today. We watched a movie, but not sure what the name was. We headed back to Deck 14, Lido, for our lunch today. Mark checked out the bbq area but did not see a burger, as it was an Aussie bbq today. I picked out some veggies, rice and ham today. Mark didn't really eat much. We headed back to our cabin. Decided not to play water volleyball today as Mark was not feeling well. I decided to give Mark some time to sleep, so I headed down to the library to work on the puzzle I started a few days ago. Someone had worked on it in-between, but there was a large area that still needed work. I added several pieces and headed back to the cabin as our Ryder Cup was starting shortly. We headed to the casino. Our challenge included putting around sand traps on one side or furniture on the other. We both picked the other side. Marks first shot got stuck on a railing. Mine went thru the railing and down a ramp. We both scored 4. Not a good day for either of us. We left before all the golfers finished as Mark's sinuses were bothering him. We showered and relaxed before getting dressed for dinner. Our dinner mates were already seated when we got to the dining room. Again, I did not like any of the main entrees. I picked a rice and veggie dish, but it came with an over easy egg on top. I sent it back, asking them to cook the egg. Everyone else started without me. However, it didn't take long to get my cooked egg and rice dish. Mark had a noodle dish with tiny pieces of pork. We each enjoyed a dessert.
We headed up to Deck 12 for tonight's Movie Under the Stars. It was a New Zealand made movie called, Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It was entertaining. The breeze was cool for me, so I wrapped up in a blanket. Our ship dropped anchor soon after the movie started. Lots of boats around us. Mark saw an article in the news about two tankers who were hit by torpedoes. Not sure what was going on. Thankful that it didn't happen to this ship! We headed up to Deck 14 for a hot drink. I joined Mark and had a coffee. We shared a table with Ron and his wife, from Gold Coast, Australia. Ron is also part of the Ryder Cup and a very good golfer. They are doing the entire world cruise. Then Mark headed back to the cabin but I decided to see if I could find a seat at the late show for Sean O'Shea from Canada. He was a singer/impersonator and comic. Enjoyed the show. Headed back to our cabin. Mark was resting and watching tv. Listened to a Youtube by Scott Adams. It's late for posting this blog tonight. Thanks to everyone who emails or sent messages. Enjoy your day.
