Sea Princess Sea Day - 06/15/19

16 June 2019 | Mediterranean Sea
Helen
Slept in today. We didn't get to bed until midnight, so it was nice to get enough sleep. Walked up to Deck 14, Lido and had breakfast there. Another couple joined us and they were from Vancouver, Canada. Enjoyed visiting with Ron & Irma. Then headed to the Captain's talk with our cruise director, Jody. She asked him a lot of questions and he enjoyed answering them. Then they passed a microphone into the audience and invited questions from the passengers. So, I firstly thanks Captain Tony for his hospitality. Then I asked him a question if his wife and daughters plan to join him on this world cruise. Lots of interesting questions. Captain Tony loves to talk. We headed back to our cabin. Mark took a rest while I caught up on the internet, posting pictures to Facebook. I headed to the library to work on a different puzzle. Someone told me that there was a note on the back of the box that said there were missing pieces, so I decided to pick another one. Since we ate breakfast late, I wasn't in a hurry for lunch. I got back to the cabin and Mark was not there. He must have gotten hungry and came looking for me. I must have taken a different way back and missed him. When he returned to our cabin, we headed back to Deck 14 for a late lunch.
After lunch, we came back to our cabin. Watched some tv. Then headed to Deck 7 for today's Ryder Cup challenge. I beat Mark today. When we went out on the bow on our Deck 11 there was quite a bit of wind. The sun was shining and the seas were light, but with the breeze, I was cold. Took some pictures and headed back to our cabin. We showered and I let Mark decide if he was going to dinner in the dining room. Tonight was another dress up night. Mark decided to get dressed and join our dinner mates. Our dining room was pretty empty. It seems like our passengers prefer to dress down. Lots of people wear jeans or very casual clothes most nights. On the table next to us, there is an elderly lady that gives the dining room staff grief each night. It's sort of comical to watch. We all feel sorry for our waiters. She complains about the food and never looks like she's happy being there. There are other choices. After dinner, we changed out of our dressy clothes. I added a sweatshirt. Then we headed down to Deck 7 and walked around the ship a couple of times. By this time, the sun was setting. We are usually having dinner thru sunset. We skipped the movie, which was Spider Man - Home Coming. We really haven't watched too many of those movies. Also, tonight's entertainment was a Canadian singer, that I watch the other night. Mark wanted to rest, so I went back to the library and worked on my puzzle. Lots of people wandered thru. A few other passengers were also working on puzzles. One older gentleman was working on the first puzzle I started. Got back to the room around 10 pm and Mark was already asleep. So, today's blog is late as Mark won't be posting it until tomorrow. Thanks for the emails and messages. All is well on the Sea Princess. Enjoy the weekend.

About:
We are both computer folks that were live aboard cruisers back in the 90s. We settled in Jacksonville Florida after escaping the great white north and cruising the Bahamas, T&C, DR and points south down to Trinidad. [...]
Extra: Charabia is a French slang word for nonsense or gibberish. It derives from Arabic "sharab" which means alcohol. When you drink (too much) alcohol, you start talking Charabia. The original owners named her and Mark liked the name so it stuck.
