Happy 60th birthday to my sister, Fran! We had set the alarm to 7:30 as we had to be up and out of the house. I was tasked with keeping my sister, Fran, out of the house, while everyone else got ready for her surprise party. We both showered and got dressed. Then we had a lovely breakfast with Fran, Peter, Mark and Rachel. I got to drive Fran around in our Jeep. I have not been driving much of late. Everything worked out okay. We had an early appointment and then Fran got a nail treatment at the Fayez Spa. I got caught up on emails and news on the internet. Then played some games. The place was very cold and I was regretting not taking my sweater. By the time she was done, it was lunch time. We drove over to a mall and stopped for lunch at a Thai type restaurant. Then walked over to the shops. I was getting worried that we were going to be really late for the party, but Mark texted me that I needed to keep Fran away until 2:30. We got back to their house around that time. Fran did notice all the shoes that her guests had taken off...as she walked inside, everyone yelled 'surprise'. Two of our sisters were in attendance, which was great. They each put in a lot of effort in making the party a success. Of course, Peter, Rachel, Lucas, Mark and Luke also did a fabulous job, too. Enjoyed meeting all of Fran's close friends and neighbors. Everyone had an amazing time. Most of them knew that we had been sailing around the world and had lots of questions about our trip. The meal was very nice. Everyone helped out. Everyone sang happy birthday to Fran who loved her special birthday cake. Some of the guests left early, but most stayed thru dinner. It was after 10 pm when everyone left. We sat around drinking coffee and Baileys, plus other liqueurs as we chatted about a lot of different topics. So much laughter and fun. It's almost 1 am and we are finally heading to bed. Thanks for your emails and messages. Enjoy the weekend!
