emails and cleanup day
30 September 2014 | Admiral Marina Port Dickson
searing hot sun and no breeze
Another day almost entirely on emails for Chris and a few hours for me. There was heavy rain through the night so the boat had a great wash down. I spent the rest of the day pottering doing boat jobs such as checking the water tank on the port side, swapping tanks from forward to aft, vacuuming up some salt crystals from the bilge and trimming the carpet in the centre section of the port side, never been fixed properly from when we renewed it!
3pm breeze had dropped and we were dripping so much it was a good to take a break from the emails/chores and go for a swim at 3pm to cool off. Chris decided that while we were hot and sweaty it was a good time to do a major inside tidy up which was so much needed and get ourselves sorted well and truly. It was great to be tidy and organised so good job done and only took an hour.
As we hadn't had any response to our emails further up the coast I suggested we do that as well before the swim as they'd all be closed when we got back. Chris mad a few calls but not progressing too well. We could get into one called Marina Island which is about 5 hours by bus from KL and puts us up nearer to nice sailing islands etc so think we will check that out. Our preferred destination Rebak, just off Langkawi had emailed back to say they may have something they just need to know in advance!! I would have thought that this was advance???
Teluga said they had nothing but we could go on the waiting list which we said yes please.
5pm and finally off to the pool for the long awaited swim and cool off. Yesterday would have been perfect sailing day lovely breeze but nothing today!
Sue had gone off exploring, we called her to see where she was, about 20 minutes walk in the direction of Port Dickson, we told her to stay put and we'd walk in and have a meal at a local eatery there where we enjoyed some local food including Kampang Rice which we hadn't had before.
A pleasant walk once we got to the coast again, a Buddhist temple right on the road across from the beach where the road winds over a hill, not a very safe place for a temple as all the amenities are across the road, but I am sure there must be some reason for the location apart from the lovely sea and beach view.
On the way back we picked up a couple of green coconuts lying on the ground, there were several there but didn't want to be greedy.
