Great Lakes Sailing Information

04 June 2008
Welcome to the Sailblog of the S/V Charrette! The purpose of this blog is to document useful information on boat prep, weather conditions, communication and navigation on the Great Lakes that isn't always contained in the plethora of cruising guides currently available. We are making this information available because over the years that we have been cruising the Great Lakes, we have found that the conditions very greatly depending on the area. For example, the cell phone that you might rely on for weather information and communication near Chicago may be totally useless in the remote areas of Lake Superior. By documenting these particularities as we travel, we hope to be of service to those who follow in our wake.
