Summer 2008 Lake Superior Cruise
24 June 2008 | Government Bay Les Cheneaux Islands
John
After resting a couple of days at Mackinac Island, we made our way under spinnaker to Government Bay in Les Cheneaux island chain. We like Government Bay because it is easily accessible from Lake Huron and carries a minimum depth of 12 feet at LWD all the way into the anchorage area. It also is a great place to see the sunset and boasts ample shore hiking as well as a sandy lagoon. The next day, we made the 2 mile trek to the town of Cedarville via dinghy for showers and groceries.
