This morning, our group went hiking to see the Rainbow Falls and then to the campground to see a trapped bear that had been hanging out by the camper's trash receptacles. Just to check it out, I walked over to the sand beach by the outside breakwater and went for an afternoon swim. The water was the warmest I'd been in all summer and it was awesome snorkeling. I saw rocks of all different colors in the sand and abundant amounts of crawfish scattered around. Dad went and got the ship's bucket, and I caught as many crustaceans as I could. We brought them back to the dock and boiled about a dozen of them. A little butter and Tabasco and we had ourselves some tasty appetizers. Dad made friends with the owners of the boats next to us, and got some helpful tips on where we could travel next. Mom was cooking up a storm in the galley and Stefan was unfortunately coming down with a sickness. I think we all hit the sack at the first chance we had so we could wake up the next morning to leave at first light.
(Editor's note: the captain of the boat that we met acquired his crew from a website and is looking for crew for next summer for travels around Lake Superior. Leave your contact information in the comments and I'll put him in touch with you if you're interested).
