Cruising with other Family Boats

While my brother was on board we were able to give him a taste of life on the water as well as a whirlwind tour of St. John. We delivered him back to St. Thomas in time for his flight out. Then we all looked at each other and said "What now?" We had no plans and were wondering what the other "kid boats" were up to. Each morning at 7:30am there is a radio chat on the single side band (ham radio). Boats from our rally can find each other that way. We heard some other families on the radio and made a plan to meet at Lameshur Bay on the south side of St. John. We ended up with five family boats exploring the south side together. We had a great time hiking and snorkeling. We even had dinner on each other's boats. One night there were 11 kids and 8 adults on our boat for dinner. It was crowded but fun! Another night there were two boats with kids divided so that big kids could supervise little kids and a third boat with adults only.
We just made the big trip from St. Thomas to the islands off of Puerto Rico known as the "Spanish Virgin Islands". We have a loose plan to meet two other family boats here in the next few days.
