Arrived to Georgetown
20 March 2016 | Georgetown, Great Exuma

We left this morning and sail tight on the wind to Georgetown. A really nice brisk run, we actually sailed pretty fast today, almost 10 knots so we were anchored in Georgetown by 11 am! The harbor has lots of boats, sailboats at 97% and a few huge power yachts but the harbor is wide and offers many different anchorages. I think many cruisers gathered here for the upcoming cold front coming on Monday which should bring high winds and rain. We met again with Aphrodite who arrived yesterday late afternoon and Vision of Johanna came as well. I really wanted to go on the ocean beach for an afternoon walk so I called Aphrodite thinking the kids would have so much fun in the waves and … they did…. It brings so many memories, when Emilie and Alec were little, they spent hours on this ocean beach searching for little marine creatures in the coral intricate hole maze, jumping and screaming in the waves, their hair full of sand. This is where I met my dear friends, Amy,Dave and their kids from Crested Butte, Colorado, and we stayed friends for life: They are actually coming and visiting this week on Cheval, what a special treat, the four of us again (without our little ones, which are now taller than us!!!).
