Guardalavaca

East of the marina, is a very touristy coast with a string of international, all inclusive, hotels with primarily Canadian customers (Cuba gets approximately 1 million Canadian tourists/year). So the road to Guardalavaca (translating to:” watch the cow”) is a very nice road, probably the best we rode in our circuit. Before Guardalavaca, we went a few times to the sister hotel of the marina (owned by the same Gaviota Group), called Pesquero, in order to connect with wifi. Each time, we were greeted at the entrance by a guard who ask us where we were going. We did not realize right away that it was an all-inclusive resort, so we were always told to stay in the main lobby only, where we could buy a 2CUC /1 hour internet card and use it right there. The hotel looks beautiful and all the personnel spoke excellent English. The local Cubans can still use the beach in front of the hotel but not go through the lobby since it is all inclusive. They come by bus and love the beach.
