Cracker P's

Abaco has at least 1 beach bar on every island except Man-O-War, which is a dry island. We have been to many of these cute little establishments and you might even say it’s our quest to visit as many as we can. Everybody needs a hobby, right? Somehow we had never made it over to Cracker P’s on Lubbers Quarters just a short dinghy ride from our anchorage near Tahiti Beach. Today we’re going to change that.
With rain on the horizon we quickly went across and bellied right on up to the bar. A group from our anchorage on a chartered cat on vacation was right behind. Cracker P’s signature rum drink is the shotgun. Especially with a name like that I have to try it. Ok lets be honest I always have to try them so I can rate them on my fruity rum drink scale. This one fell somewhere in the middle of the scale. But good conversation with the group of 8 that had been friends since high school and travel together every year. We always find what a small world this is, one of their fathers lives in Medford and come to visit him often and love the area. Well who doesn’t? Fun group.
Cracker P’s has lots to do for the family to keep people entertained while opening their wallet for more cold drinks. Volleyball, horseshoes, Bocce ball and chairs to just chill on the beach with live music. Being the off season it wasn’t crowded or maybe it was just too early on a week day. The only other group was from Orlando renting a cottage a mile or so away. Walking through the mosquito jungle and some private property to get there.
As the rain was definitely on its way we all decided we needed to go while the getting was good. The Orlando group of 5 were contemplating their walk back and feeling sorry for them and wanting them to safely get back we offered them a ride. I guess that makes us the DDD (Designated Dinghy Drivers). Our poor 15 hp dinghy was to say the least being put to its limit., 7 adults. Water was dumping in over the stern and weighing it down even more. I started pumping it out and while not paying attention was pumping it right back in as the outtake hose kept dropping back INTO the dinghy. It was quite comical. Got them to a dock within easy walking distance for them, we helped them up the ladder and off they staggered with their Crown Royal tucked under their arm. I think they may have a rough morning ahead of them. Bye Halle Berry, Steven Spielberg, Steven Segal and whoever was with you. Ha ha not really, we make up pirate names and they make up Hollywood names.
So another one checked off the list with so many more to go. It’s rough but somebodys gotta do it.
Next up Man-O-War Cay the dry island
