2nd CTD test

Today we did another CTD cast to double check all the sensors. The cast began at 1300, went down to 1000 meters where all the Niskin bottles were fired. The CTD was back on deck at 1430. All of the sensors worked well. The scientists took water samples from the Nikin bottles to run thought a gas chromatograph. The testing of Nereus was held off until tomorrow on the Cayman Bank in approximately 500 meters of water. The engineers are still adjusting stability and flotation so that they can better control the sink rate of the vehicle. Weather: Partly cloudy, 85 degrees, winds at 10 knots, seas 2-3 feet.
