Boat Bondo

30 November 2010
So the temperature decided to stick it's head above 60 today. Under cloudy skies I rushed out and put the forementioned 3M putty (I'm calling it boat bondo) on the hull sides. The divots and major scrapes have been filled, now I just need to get the repair parts in for my sander so I can go clean up the mess. Weather permitting the next thing is primer! Failing that, there's still a LOT of feathering to do on the bottom...

The photo is of the forward end of the ORIGINAL cove stripe. If you look closely on the right side you can see how the line actually came through as an off-white behind the white when I sanded. I was able to trace it out (seen here on hull), then trace through to a piece of paper. With a few quick measurements and a little time at home I now have digital templates for reproducing the original cove stripe!

Moving forward!
Mike
