New CHT system is INSTALLED!!!
12 May 2012
Well, sort of :-) . Got the whole system installed. The holding tank doesn't leak; a major point. The overboard discharge failed the leak test in a couple spots, that's the bad news. The good news is that the through-hull valves work, and on the Bay I won't be dumping overboard anyway. Shouldn't take more than an hour or two tomorrow to fix. Bad news #2: either the head isn't pumping correctly or there's too much lift to the supply-side vented loop for this particular valve; will write the manufacturer tonight. I paid $20 for the new head, so if it doesn't work it's not a big loss. More on that later.
In the pic you can see the new tank next to the drill. That will be secured and covered up somehow. The smaller white hoses are the supply hoses going up to the vented check valve and back down to the head. The big hose is going up to the holding tank. under the cabinet, behind the drawers, you can barely see the overboard discharge coming out the bottom of the tank. There's a 1 1/2" cutout valve on the bottom of the tank, and a downstream valve at the through-hull, of course. See the diagram in previous post.
