Cruise preps begin!

03 March 2013
Busy day today! Coming out of winter the boat needs a good cleaning out anyway, but with a 150 mi berth-shift coming up at the end of the month I need to get busy! Made a few updates to the winter cover yesterday, although I'll be putting it away for the season I wanted to get that taken care of while I still can. Thanks, Mik, for the help! Also had a chance to verify all is well with the batteries and battery charger.

Today. Ugh. Cleaned out the cockpit and V-berth completely, went through everything to separate everything I won't need between now and the cruise. Tomorrow night it all gets packed into the Durango so I can drive it back to Virginia. Then I began the long-overdue task of fabricating a new chart table and installing it at the nav station. In the process had to do some rewiring of the inverter. Joy. The only thing worse that running cables is RErunning cables. I have a chart table again. My plan is to laminate a chart of the southern bay to it when I get home, but for now it's plain. Plain, but INSTALLED. YAY.

I'm going to be out of town all week on business, but still need to get around to some basic engine maintenance before departure.
