Friday Harbor. Ran some errands last night and this morning, before meeting Harry's sister Cindy and her husband Loren off the ferry from Anacortes. We showed them the boat, and then they toured us about the island in their car. We checked out Roche Harbor, where we were initially thinking of going. It was beautiful - gardens in full bloom - but we were glad we didn't put in there. The harbor was packed with mega yachts, and the docks were fairly close together. There was lots more room to maneuver in Friday Harbor. We also saw the old line kilns, the lighthouse out on Lime Kiln Point, and the old British and American camps established to determine where the boundary between the U.S. and B.C. should be. (Judging by the zig zags in the boundary, I am guessing they were all hosed at the time.) Neka got a run off leash at last on the beach below the American Camp. She needed that!

Was good to visit with Cindy and Loren. They showered us with gifts - beautiful fresh raspberries from their garden, jams, dinner out. They even brought a blanket for Neka to nap on in their car.
