Screaming & shredding

Squally day. The clouds are screaming in from the south, shredding and dividing when they hit the mountain peaks, creating fleeting sucker holes. A couple boats left one of the N-S arms first thing this morning, while it was still calm.
Rigged up the rain catcher, but it's just making a huge racket in the wind, so we'll have to take it back down. We can always use creek water if necessary. De-thwacked for gale force winds by tying halyards to the rail where they'll be off the mast; put out all our anchor rode; put up the rain fly. Hand washed some laundry, attempted some hardware leak intervention, made some biscuits for sandwiches, plotted out our routes up to Ketchikan.
We were thinking we'd make a quick stop at Port Edward for fuel, since there's a marina there. However, none of our guides or charts mention a fuel dock there, so I sat phone texted our daughter and asked her to do some research. No dice. We'll have to go into Prince Rupert instead, and that probably means staying the night there. We were hoping to avoid that, but oh well. Showers, laundry, water, and a restaurant will be nice. We'll still need to provision after we cross the border and clear through in Ketchikan.
