Happy 94th birthday, Vic!

The winds have abated; the rain and fog persist. Boat after boat appeared out of the fog making their way from Prince Rupert to points south: fishing boats, pleasure craft, tugs, ferries, cargo ships laden with containers stacked 6 or 7 high.

Everything we have is wet, despite the fact that containment worked on most of the leaks, except around the bedding, in the head, and Harry's guitar. Even our foul weather gear soaked through. I poured an inch of water out of a boot, because my first layer was tucked in. Mopped everything up and hogged the sole drier in the laundry when we got to Rupert.

We're in the same spot as last time, when I botched the difficult approach. I knew what was coming this time, though, and lined up better. Fortunately, there was only current to contend with this time.

A sport fishing boat pulled up opposite, and have been cleaning and suck-u-sealing fish all afternoon. The harbor porpoise are cleaning up the carcasses. They're very rotund. We went to an establishment where you can pay them to cook you things that aren't mac & cheese, and it was delightful.
