The cat in front of us and the boat behind us on the dock from Anacortes left at daybreak. First sailboat jockeyed with their noisy side thrusters for 20 minutes to take a spot on the outside. It was a -3' tide this morning, and the little puddle they were in was disappearing fast.

We mosied on after the caffeine entered our bloodstreams, and the tide had come up a couple feet. Mirror calm out in Clarence Strait, for now. Enjoyed a warm and sunny sucker hole all the way to Ernest Sound. It's supposed to kick up this afternoon from the NW, so we decided to head to Thom's Place, which opens to the SE, instead of Santa Anna, which opens to the NW. The fish are jumping, the porpoises are splashing, and the fishing fleet is grumbling to each other over the radio. I think maybe they all got up too early.

Kinda glad the wind chose Thom's Place for us. A fleet of 6 or 7 boats in formation with a 500' + passenger boat, according to our AIS, put in at Santa Anna. Holy cow! An Alaskan Nordic tug came into Thom's, and set anchor about a mile away. Much better on the Zimovia side, methinks.

Man, this sun feels good today!
