Russian Bay

We have been a bit remiss in writing for the last week, but will try to backfill over the next few days as we work our way down the coast. We checked out of Hellville on Monday and are now up in Russian Bay, about 20 miles northwest. There are two sleepy little fishing villages with welcoming locals. Their main source of income is drying fish which they sell in Hellville. They had table after table of fish drying - from the smallest bait fish to the largest trevalli. It looked divine. We walked up a path past wild zebu (like a cow but with a hump behind the head) and chickens and then along the beach to the other village where we saw the most beautiful children, all so excited to see us. Teresa gave them some pencils, and although I don't think they knew what they were for, were thrilled. We had a nice quiet evening and very peaceful sleep in this very protected bay.
