We met Keri and Scotty at the V&A Waterfront for lunch yesterday. It's not far from the Yacht Club, but unfortunately it's too dangerous to walk so we took a cab. The place is unbelievable - I think there are more stores there than I have seen collectively in the last two years. Even many US brands such as Nike, Levi's and MAC. There was a ton of entertainment - restauarants, bars, movies, a live stage and lots of kiddie attractions.

It was a bit of a shock to the system. At first I felt the need to buy everything in sight, but then was overcome with paralysis at the overabundance of pure consumerism. At the end of the day, we didn't buy much other than groceries but it was still fun to see the latest fads and fashions from the western world. It's been a long time.
