We returned to the boat this afternoon and noticed a huge black mass on the boom - turned out it was a large swarm of bees! We got aboard and were able to jump down below through the forward hatch and fortunately none of the bees had gotten inside. We decided to try using the deck wash pump which is mounted forward in the anchor locker to spray them off, which seemed to work at first, but when we got back from a few hours back in town, they were back in full force. We again had to jump in through the forward hatch and spend the night inside with all of the windows and hatches closed, making for an even hotter night than usual. Hopefully they may be gone in the morning or we will have to take more drastic measures.
