Bye Bye Manhattan

27 January 2005 | Manhattan, New York
Julie
After delivering the boat, which was then our home, down to Miami, we moved into a small apartment in Nolita to finish up the work year. We spent one last very cold winter in Manhattan, but knowing it was to be our last, we enjoyed every minute of it. We had a nice trip home to California for the holidays and in late January had a big going away party at Rialto, a great restaurant just downstairs from us. All of our good friends were there, including Dev on the turntables and even some friends from LA. We had lots of final dinners and brunches with friends, giving us an excuse to try almost all of the great restaurants we had wanted to before leaving.

We packed up what few belongings we had left and had them shipped to a storage unit in Southern California, which is where we think we will end up after the trip. On January 28th, we said goodbye to NY and got on a jet to Miami where it was instantly summer. We had lots of work ahead before our departure on Feb. 14, but after the last few very stressful months in freezing NY, it seemed like more play than work to be certain!
