Isla Pedro Gonzales

We sailed from Panama City to Isla Pedro Gonzales, about 35 miles northwest. At first the wind was glorious, but then we got rocked by a squall and the wind completely died and we had to motor in the rain for the rest of the day.
En route we caught a mahi-mahi and two spotted mackerels and had quite a few other hits. We arrived around sunset, too dark to do too much exploring for an anchorage, so decided to anchor just in front of the little town with one other sailboat.
As soon as the anchor was set, a local guy padded over and after a few minutes of chatting, offered us some fresh produce which he brought back about an hour later. For $5 we got a huge bucket of limes, papayas, mangos, yuca and peppers.
We had mahi mahi ceviche and grilled mackerel with mango salsa for dinner followed by a strong tasting of our Madagascar rum that Chris had been talking up for the previous few days. The first comment from Greg was that he could not feel his tongue, but it appears that the sensation wore off after a glass or two or three.
