Folks Arrived
21 November 2007 | Isla Ixtapa, Mexico
Julie
After our extensive provisioning for Thanksgiving dinner, we cleaned the boat down with 50 gallons of watermaker water. She was pretty salty from all the spray across the Gulf of Tehuantepec.
My Mom and Dad arrived from the airport just after noon. They had flown down from southern California for Thanksgiving. We picked them up at the pier in Bahia Zihuatanejo and then headed out to Isla Ixtapa which is 10 miles northwest of Zihuatanejo.
On the way we ate lunch of tortas which Julie made. There was not much wind and we needed to keep the turkey cold so we motored running the refrigeration system the whole way.
We anchored off the northeast side of Isla Ixtapa in about 3 fathoms on sand. The anchorage is right off a bunch of restaurants which seem to get only day traffic so perhaps we have the island to ourselves at night.
