When Fail is success

Steve Leicester
So there was a bit of SW swell left around after a couple of days of gales. And when I came to the Western exit of Westernport there were moderate headwinds against tide, heaping up the waves and more than moderate swell. And the swell was breaking, even in the shipping channel. About face, against tide but with wind. Genoa up and sailing away from that maelstrom (5.5 knots through water, 1.5 knots over ground).
Moored at Cowes (again).
Tomorrow will try again. Forecast is for light winds turning onto the nose. It is going to be a long sail to Wilson's Promontary! Tough cruising the Victorian coast.
