Yep, still in the Alimou marina in Athens.... Finally there is some progress, on Friday 8 October we got the papers proving the deletion of Clio from the Greek ships register, thanks to the valiant efforts of Nikos (Nomicos' base manager in Athens) and some 'kind reminders' from Francis. It normally takes three weeks and it took almost double in our case (which is probably a good outcome from what we hear about Greek bureaucracy). Anyway, after the papers were translated into English (and rubber-stamped, sealed, signed by a lawyer, and whatever else the local bureaucrats want), Nikos came to the rescue again taking Francis on his bike to the courier at 4:45 to get the papers on their way to Oz before 5:00 on Friday. We're now waiting to hear back from the Australian registration office. Hopefully they will be quicker than Greek office. Once we get Oz registration papers, we have to tackle the customs office to secure a transit log and then we can sail, if it pleases the port police.

Today Clio got her new lettering with her name now displayed on the bow and Brisbane proudly in showing on her stern, and the Aussie flag flying. In the mean time the hull fouling has exploded due to our inactivity and needs some extensive scraping.

We have lovely new cushions in our cockpit which make for much more comfortable sitting and we are still waiting for the new fridge to be installed. I have a new bedside lamp, it is now easier to read and more importantly, turn off the lamp at my head rather than the one at my feet. We have one fitted bed sheet, which was not so easy (or cheap) to get. It had to be custom made. It was clear from the result that the seamstress had never done it before. In future we will have them (and deletion papers) ordered from China.
