Sunday 8 June 2014: Bozuk Buku?
Off to our next destination Bozuk Buku, just around the corner from the Octopus paradise. No wind today so a motor ride for a couple of hours. When we arrived in the lovely bay, we found a good spot to anchor very near the rocky shore. Time to try out the new ship to shore line. Francis donned the wetsuit and towed the line ashore to secure it around a rock. After some trial and error at Chris's end securing the line to the cleat on Clio we are securely settled for the night.
Francis stayed in for a while longer turning stones on the bottom, a sure way to deny peoples claims that the Meds are biologically uninteresting. They are very interesting if you can be bothered to open your eyes and turn a couple of rocks. This beautiful bristle worm (Eurythoe complanata, I believe) was disturbed from a gathering under a rock. The photo does not really reflect its beautiful form and colours. More critters will appear on the photo gallery if time/internet quota permit.
Back to the above-water world. Slowly the bay begins to fill up with gullets full of tourists. We are visited by two small power boats driven by young Turkish women selling their wares the boats are completely full of Turkish rugs and they also offer to deliver fresh bread the next morning. We have found yet again more reason to complain about our friend Vodafone no coverage here. But our little cheap phones operating on Turkcell have full coverage so we will be changing our internet over to Turkcell as soon as we can get back to Marmaris.
