The Arch Is Born

Friday 07/11/2014: The Arch Is Born
Last night (Thursday) we got the latest update from Güçlü on progress of the solar arch. The arch was installed on Clio yesterday (Thursday 10th of July), including the super-duper dinghy hoist (davit). The arch looks excellent on the photos and we're impressed with the craftsmanship of the work delivered by the Robinson's workshop.
The next stage (today, Friday) is for Alaattin to screw on two 100W solar panels and connect them with the already existing MPPT controller wiring and test their proper working. That may or may not be a time-consuming job, depending on whether the existing wiring is long enough to be fed through the arch's leg. We're pretty confident that Alaattin is up to the job, but time is running out quickly.
Tomorrow (Saturday) a two-week charter starts so Tolga and his girlfriend will have a BIG day getting it all ready. Especially with our stuff in boxes still on board, and whatever other jobs are still on the list, we suspect it will be a long day for them. Good luck to Tolga, Gulcan and Alaattin and a big thanks to Güçlü and Yukari for all the photos and for producing a copy of Clio's charter handbook.
