AFO

13 September 2012 | Kingston, Ontario
Jennifer - fall is in the air
Yesterday Al was cast for an AFO (Ankle foot orthotic) with hinges. This will help with his right foot in the swing through phase. He tends to catch his foot now but the AFO will help support his foot and not let it fall past 90 degrees eliminating potential falls. Al's board has been changed to Quad cane with 1 assist. Meaning he can ambulate around his room with the cane and one person assisting. This is a huge leap. I didn't have my camera to capture the casting being done which was very interesting and portable. The AFO will be fabricated and ready for him next Tuesday to try out inside his shoe for Physiotherapy at 1 p.m.
