Fraser Ablaze

04 December 2016 | Fraser Island.
We half expected there to be a bush fire on Saturday night during quite a wild electrical storm - we were anchored opposite South White Cliffs - but we looked out last night and the island was glowing. We are inclined to think they are doing a burn off - a couple of the walking tracks at Kingfisher have been closed due to fire danger.
We can't win with the wind - it's either too little or way too much. Waiting now for Wednesday when we will cross Wide Bay Bar and scoot down to Mooloolaba. Then we have to high tail it across to Newport and hide out the next lot of strong South Easterlies. We were hoping to go straight to Bribie to pick up our mail from Jane's, but it looks like we'll have to back track a couple of days later. The life of a sailor is not easy!!!!!
