Anchored in St. Barths

So, the rest of the story...on anchoring that is. While enjoying our drinks after the Gustavia visit, and planning our trip the next morning to go over to the cute town of St Jean, where the Tripp's had honeymooned, the old anchor story came up.
It's one of our favorites. Steve Tripp, Norm Weill and my son Adam, were all racing our Wianno Senior in Martha's Vineyard some years ago. We could not get a mooring, so had to anchor in the outer harbor. In preparation, Toby, ties the anchor to the cleat, then throws a wrap around the winch as a second precaution. I ask Steve to throw out the anchor. As we watched 100 feet of anchor and line go off the front of our Senior, we realized that Steve, not understanding WHY a line would be cleated on HIS (he handles the Spinnaker) fore deck, and Adam, not understanding why there is a wrap on HIS Jib Winch, have both freed their lines. SO MUCH FOR PREPARATION.
