Sailing south to Great Guana in 12 knots of North breeze inside a reef defines perfection. The winds soft on your face, Comocean cutting through the water at 10 degrees of heel and speeds approaching hull speed. PLEASURE!
We arrived at Orchid Bay Marina where we are spending the night. JoAnne docked with precision. We have been there before and the dock manager yells out, “You’ve got it Joanne”…and she does. We spend a short time at the dock, and a trip to the store to pick up charcoal…did I say the grill valve left the boat in Hope Town… then up to Nippers to walk seven mile beach. About 2 miles down the beach we spotted 4 inch fish circling and leaping out of the water just above the wave break. We all watched and got excited, when, instantly they all lined up, and surfed toward shore: All in one line, on a turquoise wave. Kids will always find a place to have fun! See Waldo...I mean fish, in the Photo.
Dinner started with drinks at the Orchid Bay deck overlooking the sunset. Light winds allowed some no-see-em, darn it. But, it was still a nice start to the evening. Then over to the grill where Jack grilled the Filet while we advised with drinks in hand. Domino’s followed. Somehow Toby ended up in last place 100 points behind the virtually tied leaders. However, that was only round one. More to come
