In the Cut

This may have been the easiest of all our trips. Dinner served on plates with an open table every night. Last night, just coming toward morning, John and i were on the helm. The water was flat. the fog cut visibility to 500 yards. The radar screen shows visible signals we assume are fishermen...perhaps out all night. We divert one, we see nothing, We see more showing up on the screen. They are not moving. Our only guess, they are sleeping whales on the surface of the water. Now, prove me wrong!
Morning brings us to the Osterville Cut. We are one bridge from the dock.
