Our thanks go out to Hurricane Irene for sending us an invitation to the party, and then cancelling the party! We had hunkered down in Fort Lauderdale for a few days, put out extra lines and fenders, worried just the tiniest bit about when the excitement would arrive, then nothing... which was a good thing.
We saw a smidge more rain than usual and that was it. Now we're on our way again. We left Ft. L. this morning, had a good few hours at an average of 7.5 knots in the Gulf Stream, and now are tucked in at Palm Beach... an easy place to drop the anchor. All is well.

To our friends who likely wondered what happened when we disappeared:
June 23 - Aug. 11 was spent in Palmetto, Florida undergoing repairs and outfitting the Cool Change.
We finally set sail on Aug. 11, headed south along Florida's west coast. Enjoyed stops in Marco Island, Marathon, Long Key, Rhodes Harbor, and are now resting for a while in Ft. Lauderdale.
The sailing life is wonderful. We look forward to sending updates as internet access allows.
