Built by the Spanish from con quinoa stone (limestone, shells, sand) , 17ft thick walls. When the fort was fired upon by canon ball they’d be absorbed into the walls rather than breaking it apart. At night the soldiers would go out of the fort, retrieve the canon balls, repair the walls. In the morning it looked like the fort had healed itself. The shoulders would recycle the canon balls and fire them back at the enemy.
