Well, Surreal made it through Hurricane Irma undamaged. Thanks to Chad and the people at Brunswick Landing Marina for keeping her safe. It got very windy, but Chad took off the canvas and put on some extra lines. The marina is known as a hurricane hole, and it sure is. My Mom and Dad will drive me there the beginning of November. Can`t wait, because it is getting cold here.
I sailed to the Bahamas last Monday. with my Mom & Dad and my friends Dennis and Bonnie. It was a very rough crossing. We stayed in Cat Cay for two nights, then sailed the 10 miles to Bimini Bay Club on North Bimini. Both are nice, but there is more to do in Bimini.
We arrived in Key Largo a few weeks ago. I have been busy entertaining Mom and Dad's friends that have come to visit. Mark sailed down with us. Along the way we met our friend Tom on sv Gambrinus. Gambrinus stays at the same marina we stay in. Unfortunately, Shamus is Tom's crew. He is a Siamese cat that does not want to play with me. Craig came to visit us when we were anchored in Lake Silvia in Ft Lauderdale. Craig is Max's dad. Max likes to play with me.
We are back in Regina after spending the summer at our cottage. Mom took me to see Dr Sousa at Victoria Vet Clinic this week to get my doguments so that I can go to see my friends in Florida. I also got foo-foo'd at Zoom Zoom Groom so that I look my best. I am almost ready. Mom and dad's friend, Mark, is going to meet us in GA to help sail to Key Largo. Mom says he is an excellent sailor. I hope he knows how to drive the dingy so that he can take me to shore.
This is my first post of my travels, on my way back to our sailboat in Key Largo from a holiday Havana in February. We are flying, as we were a little shy about sailing back from Cuba to the US.
