After two months of fitting, fixing, and adding personal touches, we weren't ready for guests. Too bad so sad, guests are coming. Marie and I were pretty much done with being tied to the dock in Westbrook. We relished setting out on our adventure and we were glad to have the goal of guests arriving to get our butts off the dock. Put some duct tape on that thing-a-ma-jig, wire that hoo-dad directly to the batteries, and tie down the whatcha-callit, we're leav'n town Pilgrim.

On Friday Aug 13 we set sail for Mystic Seaport to collect Bob Alderson and his and Jean's good friend Donna Silva. Donna is also our friend from the Modesto Adventure Club, but she and the Aldersons have been friends a long time. Jean's daughter was working through Chemo-therapy and Jean felt it was important for her to stay home. Saturday morning I picked up a rental car and drove up to Boston to pick up Bob and Donna. We got back to the boat around 7 PM and it was great fun to introduce Sail On... to our good friends. Donna was all oooohs and aaaaaaws and Bob wanted to know where the buttons were for the electric winches. It was a long travel day for them so we fixed supper aboard and caught up on our stories.
