Hopeful Winds

26 August 2016 | Marker 4, Venice
Rainy
In preparation for the maiden voyage I have reserved a slip at Marker 4. Honestly no complaints other then how posh it is. This is not negative commentary on the marina I know I'm not the target audience.

As I'm sure you sadists would like to hear today was not without trouble. To get the air conditioning working was more then just a switch. It is water cooled not air. Yup ocean water. So the previous owners bless them kept her on a lift. They empties the water from the internal system every time. She can't pump the air out. The only way is to flush the air out manually. This was done by opening her, disconnecting a pipe, engaging reengaging the system, filling your boat with water, reconnecting and boom ice cold. Fortunately I had the top notch engineer my dad Jer. Technically he will be my first mate on this first adventure but he is MUCH more knowledgeable then myself. This will be a great father son trip.

John made an appearance today. He helped stock up for the trip. It doesn't sound like much but he has a very busy schedule and him just showing up means a lot. I do miss my many Florida friends and want to catch up. (It is absolutely heartbreaking leaving the great friends we made in Maryland)

Moving aboard I assumed there would be great compromise however, I find this more then other provious living arrangements. This has everything in a compact package.

Think I can survive.
