Here comes Matthew!

05 October 2016 | Waterline Marina, Melbourne, FL
Carly
For months now we've known we were going to Adam and Nicole's wedding this weekend. And now we know Matthew is going to hit on Friday.
It looks like the worst of the storm will hit early Friday morning, and our flight doesn't leave until 5pm. So the flight should be unaffected...but who knows?

Admittedly this is all a bit exciting. I haven't been through a major storm since Wilma, I think. And we'll get to say "we've been through a hurricane on a boat!"
Our marina is fairly sheltered (you can see it on the map) so we'll mostly have to deal with storm surge and some wind. Again, the worst of it should pass before we have to leave so we should be fine.

We still don't have internet, but we have a workaround we might implement soon. It won't work for gaming but it'll work for Netflix and general browsing. It looks like our marina doesn't have internet because our dockmaster hasn't paid the guy to really do his job. "Steve doesn't care" has become our mantra as of late. I'm tempted to pay the guy just so we have *something*! It may be a general internet connection, but considering all of the older people here (read: don't use internet) we might end up getting better speed than back up in MD with Metrocast. Fingers crossed.
