Musings on boat life

17 October 2016
We haven't updated in a while so here's some random tidbits.
The engine is almost fixed. Should be fixed by end of today, and turned out to be WAAAYYY cheaper than expected. Hopefully we get to take her out this weekend! But we need to put the mainsail, jib, and reacher back up. Side note: I think what Shawn and Bruce have been calling the reacher is actually called a spinnaker. I haven't seen it unfurled so I don't know. Hopefully I find out this weekend!

The AC is actually broken this time. We know something is clogged - somewhere - but it's not clogged in an easily accessible area. Shawn's working on that today. Last night sleeping wasn't too awful, but it was pretty bad.

We visited my parents this last weekend. Shawn helped them with packing for New Mexico, I tried to figure out how we can use our unlimited data through our computers (and 'fixed' a problem with my dad's computer not turning on - the power button itself is broken, but there's a workaround). No success yet on the tethering front.

Still without home internet. But given we have truly unlimited phone data, with our new USB-C to HDMI adapter we can now watch Netflix and Hulu on our TV...which was our main complaint. Still no gaming, though.

Friendmaking goes slow, what with the hurricane and repairs and whatnot. But we're finding people.

We need to think up a better usage of space in the storage berth. Right now it's kinda a hodgepodge of whatever we throw in there. I need a system!
I hope to soon get the other berth guest-ready (after Shawn fixes the AC, under the cushion in that berth is where all of the AC system is actually housed) and put it up on AirBnB. Currently wondering what to charge per night. It's good waterfront property, after all!
