Embarking on a Honeymoon

Long time, no post! Nothing nautically exciting has happened since last writing. Shawn is pursuing a private investigation business with a marina neighbor, Captain Kevin Savage (that's seriously his last name) and I recently switched to a position at work where I actually code again. Hopefully I don't get yanked into documentation or test or something (it keeps happening to me).
Oh yeah, and, we got married. No big deal. :)
We've taken the boat out a few times for standard spoil island runs. Back in March we took Cyana out for the airshow and enjoyed drinking as much as we pleased and not sitting out in the hot sun all day. Electrical systems have held up each time, so I think we're good now. We have the Li-ion jump starter, thinking of getting another one. Maybe some extra fuses too.
For our honeymoon we're hoping to go to the Bahamas for 2-3 weeks starting this weekend. I say hopefully because you never know what'll happen with the weather. We can always go to the Keys.
We're doing the usual amount of planning that we do. Make a list of things we want to do and places we'd like to see, and see where our hearts take us. I'm hoping we go to the Abacos to visit S/V Parallax's little plot of land, but whatever.
We have our dive gear ready to go. Diving will really be the highlight of the trip, so it's good we got them hydro tested recently. Need to find our pole spear for fishing, get some bait from the store, and get a filleting kit. Neither of us are fishermen or know how to get the meaty bits from a fish so...this will be interesting.
Today and Friday we'll go pick up a bunch of canned food and other nonperishables. Also eggs and non-fishy meat perhaps. Our fridge is small but can hold some things.
We're hoping Kevin can get his solar panel installed soon and accompany us on our first Gulf Stream crossing, but I'm unsure that'll happen.
I want to say "everything will work out for the best" but there's no way to know. Our engine could just die on the way to West Palm Beach. Our electrical system could be weird again. The inverter could go out. There could be a leak somewhere we don't know about. The weather could go to shit when we want to go back and I have to fly to Melbourne and figure out a place to stay. We could hit something (a coworker was telling me a story of how a fishing charter boat he was on hit something and the bilge failed, so everyone aboard was carrying buckets of water out. Nightmare fuel right there...)
Whatever happens, you can stay tuned here for more information! I'll post pictures to Facebook (still can't figure out how to embed pictures here) but longer entries about our day will be here.
