HYC burgees in Cape May
04 October 2016
We were up early Monday morning planning an early departure so we could arrive at Cape May in the early afternoon in order to do numerous chores. However, we awoke to a fogged in harbour that delayed our start for about 45 minutes. Once under way it turned into a beautiful, warm, sunny day with light west winds and no waves. We motored leisurely all the way to Cape May (35miles). We decided to stay in a marina so we could fuel the boat, do laundry, change engine oil and provision the boat. As we arrived at the fuel dock we were pleasantly surprised to be greated by Bill Atkins and even more surprised to be assigned a dock right beside him. We were travelling with new found friends (Al & Tess) from Newfoundland on a Tartan 37 and we were all invited for cocktails on Seas the Day, which was followed by a great seafood dinner at a local restaurant. It is difficult to see but the attached photo shows two HYC burgers proudly flying in Cape May.
