Fishing Bay (Deltaville) to Norfolk
17 October 2016
We were up early and were greeted by another beautiful day! We commenced our day in a 15 knot breeze that we could sail in. After fifteen miles the wind started to drop so we had to motor sail.
Our day lasted for about ten and a half hours before anchoring at mile zero on the Intracosatal Waterway (ICW). We experienced a drop in wind and ended the day dodging barges, tug boats and ocean going ships! To top it off, we did this while battling the outgoing tide. It was a long but very rewarding day. We feel very safe here in the home of the US Navy Atlantic Fleet. Quite a spectacular sight; we are glad to be friends of the US.
